Update...

It has been busy around here, as usual. I'm trying to think what has happened since I blogged last...I got my stitches out, and my mouth has continued to heal nicely. It doesn't bother me much now at all. I'm so thankful everything went well and my wisdom teeth are gone! Now we need to get Todd's out! He's tough, though....

Wednesday night after church, Sarah Beth got sick. She only threw up a couple of times, thankfully and no one else got sick. We spent the next couple of days on pins and needles, wondering who else was going to come down with it-it passed quickly and no one else ended up getting it at all! I could hardly believe that! Praise the Lord. She was back to her old self by Friday.

I worked on Friday-we went out a few places on Saturday. We're hoping to use some of our tax money to work on our basement, putting a couple of bedrooms down here-maybe a bathroom. It is exciting to be able to do some projects! :-)

In other news-I'm flying to NC this weekend! I am excited, but I also feel bad to leave Todd w/5 kids. He is excited for me and keeps assuring me it's fine, but I do feel a little guilty. I had mentioned to him a week or so ago that I would like to be able to take Savannah to see my sister-since she hasn't got to see her yet. It has come up that my nephew who is 1 1/2 is going to have to have some tests done at the hospital next Monday, while his brother is having a surgery at another hospital-so my sister was going to be by herself. We were talking about this Sunday at my parent's house, when I got home, I looked for plane tickets and found one for a good price. I told Todd and he said I should do it, then I talked to my mom-she and my dad decided they would go, too. So me, my parents, and Miss Savannah will head out on Saturday morning. We'll be there 'til Monday. I hate that Todd and the kids can't go...I guess that's the downside to big families. (We would just drive, but it's 8 or 9 hours) :-(

Here are a few pictures of Savannah...I know it's hard to see her face how she was laying...I'll try to get some more here soon. I'm having technical difficulties! :-) You can tell, though that she is filling out...look at those chubby jaws. Don't you just love fat babies. (she's not there just yet, but hopefully she will be) She was passed out in my mom's lap...the last one is Savannah and her Pawpaw (my dad).

I should be doing laundry....

There are a million things I should be doing, but I thought I'd try and post real quick before Miss Savannah decides she's ready to eat again! :-) I just wanted to say that I am so thankful for the Lord's faithfulness to us to provide for our needs and take care of us. There have been problems with Todd's unemployment checks lately-he went into the office and sat for hours a few weeks ago-we thought we were all set-he's yet to receive a check! The good news is-our bills are paid and we are doing okay....Praise the Lord! :-) Todd called me a minute ago, he was finished with class and heading over to the unemployment office again...hopefully we'll get things straightened out. It is a mess to deal with all the time, but it is especially bad now that about half the state of Kentucky is laid off, or so it seems! It's so good to know God is in control. Todd would love to just find a job and be done with it, but there's no way he could work the 2 days that he has off school and make enough...that's if he could even find anything! He should be finished with school in December, I think-which is a little sooner than we'd first thought-hopefully he'll be able to get a GOOD job then!

I hear Savannah and someone else waking up...probably Stu. Better go!

Creepy...

I just had finished posting, and went to our local newspaper to check the obits. I was looking for a girl from my church's mother, trying to find arrangements. I was scrolling through, I came all the way to the bottom and see Jennifer M. Williams....that's my name. She was 29....I'm not 29 anymore, but it was a little creepy still! Good thing I know where I'm going...just not ready to go now! :-)

Nothing too exciting to report....

I didn't have the best weekend...I will attribute most of that to my wisdom teeth and the fact that I don't tolerate pain medication very well. I was mainly taking over the counter meds, now I am taking one prescription, but it seems to wear off before it's time for another pill! Hopefully my jaw will be better soon...it hasn't been unbearable, just not pleasant. Valentine's Day was not the best.....good thing we promised to love each other through good times and bad, in sickness and in health, huh? :-)

Today I had to go to the dr for my 6 wk check-up. Somehow it's not as fun going when you know you don't get to hear any heartbeats (other than your own maybe) or there's no possible "news" you can find out. (Other than the fact you need to lose weight-ha ha)

I hope everyone has a good week!

Tarantula

A few weeks ago, I was in the basement doing laundry. There were these old play coats of the girls' laying on the floor by the wall....I picked them up and tossed them into the laundry room floor and I see this HUGE spider crawl out. I was paralyzed with fear...covered in chills. Let me say, I am not one of those people that freaks out over microscopic bugs that screams and hollers...I used to have to kill spiders for my sister when we lived at home. Having said that, I stand there looking at this massive spider and then decide I need to do something, but I didn't want to get close. I grab a hard plastic hose to Todd's shop vac and begin banging it on the floor at the spot where the spider had been. Of course, he got away. When Todd got home a while later, I tell him about the spider and ask him to go look for it. I know he thought I was crazy...he looks all over with a flashlight...he sees this small tiny little spider back in a corner (our laundry room isn't finished-concrete floors, no ceiling) he says, "Is that it?" I just look at him...I said, "Do you really think I would be going crazy over a little spider like that!!!!??" Well, we never found it.
So the other night Mon or Tuesday, I was doing laundry (the story of my life) and I walk into the laundry room and there he was!!! Todd was upstairs and I just heard the vacuum come on. I screamed for him, but he couldn't hear me. I knew it was all up to me, but once again, I couldn't move! I was so afraid to get close. I figured I better do something before he got away again. I pick up this old dress shoe that's too little for the girls and throw it. Of course, I miss. I thought he would run, but he didn't. (See how tough this spider is) Then, he did move. I decided I had to step on him before he got away again. I go to stomp on him and I had on these old junky tennis shoes, my foot slid and I fell down. I could see the spider still on the floor ALIVE!! I start screaming and stomping like crazy...he wasn't getting on me!! The kids come running to see what is wrong with me...I tell them it's that big spider. Stu says, "Get Daddy". Then we see that I killed it!!!! I run up to tell Todd about it...of course he's laughing and has to come see it. I think he was even a little afraid of it...no actually he picked it up and starts examining it to see what kind it was. I don't care what kind it is...as long as it's DEAD!!! It is hilarious thinking about it now...I almost died of a heart attack then!!! I do not like any spiders, but I can't deal with big ones! YUCK! I hate any kinds of bugs in my house. At least Todd got to see the spider...my proof that I'm not crazy...and I'm not just a weenie afraid of a Daddy long legs! :-)

Long time, no blog

Sorry it's been a little while...it's been kind of busy! Let's see...I guess I'll start from today and go back. Today has been a little rough for me, my mouth is kinda sore after having all four of my wisdom teeth removed yesterday. The good thing was I was out for the whole procedure-I'm a chicken when it comes to dental work! I got back in the room and sat in the chair-they took my blood pressure and put a few monitors on me, the doctor came in put a needle in my arm-he said,"This stuff works pretty quick-you'll probably feel a strange feeling" Well, I did start feeling weird and that's the last thing I remember! I told Todd we need a couple bottles of that stuff around here! :-) My dad was there the whole time-I had to have someone waiting there to drive me home. Todd was in class and I hated for him to miss. My mother took off work and stayed with the kids-I appreciated that so much! I really needed to get these wisdom teeth out. I am thankful it hasn't been too bad-although I have been sore some-I don't tolerate pain medication very well. I have just been taking Aleve.
So, I covered yesterday, too...I had my wisdom teeth out and then I laid around all day.

Tuesday was the usual stuff, school, trying to get ready for a Valentine party @ church, and doing any little things I wanted to have done before this tooth ordeal.

Monday, I worked, then came home at lunch so Todd and my dad could go to the property to see how much damage was done there during the ice storm. I finished school w/the girls when I got home-Todd took Spencer with him-then I finished our taxes and sent them in efile. Later that evening the kids and I went to a couple of stores getting a few things for the Valentine party.

Sunday was a usual day-church, home, church. :-)

Saturday we went to a couple from our church's house so Todd could help them cut up limbs and all from the ice storm. We enjoyed our visit-Todd was glad to be able to help them.

Friday, I took Savannah to the dr in the morning. She weighed 9 lbs and 6 oz. She was about average or a little above on her weight....she was 23 3/4 inches long-she was in the high 90's as far as percentiles on height! It's so funny how long she is! She is such a sweet baby. I thought she had to get some shots, but was relieved when I found out they don't start 'til next month! :-) After the dr appointment, I took Savannah with me to the office. Luckily, my sister stopped by (my mother works there, too, she's the office mgr) with my nieces. They had been to their endocrinologist-he is going to put them both on an insulin pump. We are so glad-that will help them better control their diabetes-they are 10 and 8, so the better they are controlled now the better it will be in the long run! Laura, my sister, took Savannah with her because she lives close to me and she was going home. I was able to get some work done-not as much as I would've liked. That night, we went out and got Seth a new mattress for the toddler bed. Todd moved the crib into the girls' room, although Sav. isn't sleeping in it yet-then he brought down a toddler bed for Seth out of the attic. We put his new Cars bedset on it...he loved it...'til time to go to bed!!! He kept climbing out....he got so many spankings that night! He's staying in it now...I think he likes it.

Thursday was Seth's birthday. Todd was at class for a long time-we never know exactly how long they are going to stay. Of course, he had mentioned something to the kids about what we would do...so all day they were chomping at the bit about going somewhere! He finally got home...then the man showed up who was going to fix the windshield on the van. He didn't get there 'til a little after 4-didn't finish 'til after 5! I do not like going to Chuck E. Cheese or any place like that during busy times. Also, we were going to have to drive about 25 minutes or so through downtown to get over to Indiana-I didn't feel like doing that in rush hour either. We decided to go to the "play McDonald's" close to our house. The kids were fine with that...it was busy in there, too...I hate how some people just let their kids run wild and do whatever! Oh well, the kids had a good time. Then, we went to my parent's house for cake.

I think that's about it...or all I remember now...especially with kids running around...one is making horse sounds...one is acting like a dog.....never a dull moment!

Seth's birthday

Tomorrow is Seth's birthday...I can't believe he's two already! It shouldn't be so hard for me to believe since we have yet another newborn! It's always amazing, isn't it when birthdays/anniversaries roll around...it reminds you of how quickly the time passes. We haven't decided what we'll do after Todd's classes-we may try to take the kids to Chuck E. Cheese or somewhere like that. I know Seth doesn't really care, although he enjoys those places, too. The kids get so excited on birthdays...it's a big deal. :-)

I was reminded tonight of a story I forgot to tell about Stuart. My sister gave my parents a pup when she was home for Christmas-a Jack Russell named Annie. The kids love her. On Sundays after church we usually go to my mom's house for lunch...the kids go to get Annie and have snagged some of their good clothes. One Sunday I was putting a sweater on Stuart and I told him, "When we get to Mawmaw's house, you need to take this sweater off before you get around Annie, okay or her toenails will tear it". My mom teaches his Sunday School class in the nursery-he was informing her that he needed to take his sweater off at her house so Annie didn't tear it. She said, "Well Pawpaw did cut her toenails, so maybe they won't be as sharp" He says, "Well, you need to cut her teeth-they are sharp, too". :-)

Savannah isn't usually fussy, but she did seem to be tonight. It is frustrating when you get them calmed down, lay them down and start doing something else, just in time for them to start fussing again. We sat down to eat supper, she was fine in the swing, and then she started again. Spencer says, "You two sit down, I'll get her paci". It was so sweet. I appreciate when the bigger ones take initiative and help out. I love it that they are so fascinated by the baby and so in love with her. Of course, I know this too shall pass...here in a few months when she's big enough to get into their stuff! :-)

Savannah was four weeks old yesterday...once again hard to believe the time is passing so quickly. She is so sweet and such a good baby.

A few funnies by Sarah....

We woke up this morning ready to get back into the usual routine. I was feeding Sav., Seth came into the kitchen being a little grouchy. Todd decided to check his pants for me before heading out to school and he noticed Seth's diaper had torn-it was down around his ankles. Sarah was the only other person in there with us, so Todd asked her if she would get him a diaper. We usually don't ask Sarah to get things, especially if we need them quickly-she has a tendency to take a while. She comes back with Seth's blanket (she is a blanket girl-so this to her was a necessity). Todd asked her to please hurry and get a diaper...she comes back with the diaper (it always seems like an eternity when you are sitting there with a naked baby, praying that they don't hose you down!). Looking over the situation and the fact that Seth's diaper had ripped and was down around his ankles, Todd says, "I'm glad he wasn't poopy". Sarah says, "I know, 'cause then I would've had to get the wipes!!!" You just have to know Sarah...she's not one to over exert herself...she was cracking me up!!! :-) Here was another one from her while doing school. We were working on Math, I was asking her some addition problems-she's just learning the 6 family. I said, "What is 2 plus 4?" She stares at me...she says, "I've got nothing". It never ceases to amaze me the things she comes off with. Apparently, this was a line from Spongebob, I have since learned...Patrick said it about something. Did I mention the fact that I am sorry we've got cable....that is another post for another time.

We will be getting the van windshield repaired on Thursday. Our insurance agent suggested a company to us-they gave us a pretty good deal (it wasn't covered under our insurance). It is one of those mobile units so they will come to our house to fix it, which is nice. The only bad thing is Todd won't be home...I'm just a little weird about people being here when Todd isn't. I'm sure it will be fine. Hopefully we'll be able to sell the van after we get it fixed!

Have a good day.
