Another week already?

I can't believe it is already Friday night...almost Saturday!!! Where does the time go? My sister and her family came in from North Carolina on Wednesday-we've been busy visiting with them...and my brother-in-law has done some painting for us. How sweet is that? We really appreciate his help....I'm about burned out on all of this work. It is looking better....I'm just SO ready to get my house back together. Just in time to start back to school..... :-) I know, I know, I need to post pictures....I'd just rather things look a little nicer before I'm taking pictures to post on the internet....so in that case-you may NEVER see. ha ha :-)

Tomorrow is Todd's birthday. He'll be 36....it's hard to believe...he was 21 when we met-I was only 16. You know how it is, in some ways it seems like forever ago, and in others it seems like only last summer! I am so thankful the Lord led me to him...my best friend-my soul mate. We have had so much fun over these past 15 years. Three years of dating...11 1/2 years of marriage...and six kids later....we're still having fun and more in love than ever before! :-) Happy birthday, Todd. I love you.

I am tired and need to get to bed. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Monday, Monday.....

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend....Todd worked second shift, so it wasn't much different than the weekdays for us. Yesterday at church, I was either in the nursery or teaching a class, so I didn't get to be in the services, either...oh well...such is life. :-)

My mom seems to be doing okay today. We are actually at their house now...the kids went swimming for a little bit earlier-the pool is so cold that they didn't want to be in long. We're watching Little House on the Prairie-I haven't seen it for a while...I love that show.

I did paint the baseboards in Shelby's room earlier, but it wasn't long before everyone started to notice I was busy, so I had to quit. :0) Hopefully we'll get some more accomplished this week.

Hope everyone has a good week!

Quick update

Praise the Lord! My mom's surgery went well and the doctor feels confident that he was able to get all of the melanoma. He did send it off to pathology for them to check everything, but he feels pretty good about it. I'm so thankful everything went okay and there weren't any surprises when he got in there. Now, just pray that she heals okay and doesn't have too much pain!

Todd is working-I'm trying to get motivated to go paint. But I know as soon as I get involved, someone will have some kind of a problem, or need something, or get into something...that's why I don't want to. Usually after I put them to bed I'm too tired and don't feel like doing much....but enjoying some peace and quiet and having a few minutes to myself.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend! Thanks for the prayers.

An update and a request....

The men came to put our carpet in on Monday. There was a little bit of drama when they arrived...they told Todd they didn't have the carpet we ordered. I could feel myself starting to get upset-we looked at the samples and the one they had was very close to the one we ordered. After looking at it and thinking about it for a little bit (and me going up to the store to look at a bigger sample) we decided to go ahead with that carpet. They were here for most of the day-they finished up at about 4:30 or so. They pulled out of the driveway and we headed down to check it out. It looked nice, but then as I started to look closer, I could see some places where it didn't seem very tight next to the wall. There were several places like that. We called my dad and he came down to check it out...then Todd called the store where we bought the carpet. The men that had done the job came back as we were finishing up our supper. They came down and fixed some of the spots....he was full of answers as to why it looked like it did. I wasn't totally satisfied with everything, but I could tell that guy wasn't going to do anymore to fix anything. Yesterday I was working around the house when the phone rang. It was one of the men that owns the carpet store...he "just happened" to call. ;-) He asked me why he would have our name on the calendar for today...I think it was because he wasn't sure those guys would get back to us on Monday night. I did have the opportunity to tell him about my concerns and let him know I didn't feel that the carpet was installed very well. He told me HE would come back and check it out. As I was beginning to fix the kids' lunch, he called and said he would be there soon. He came in and took a look at the spots, he used a kicker on a couple and then said he would have to send someone out for a couple of them. Not long after he left, the same guys who installed the carpet pull up, they come in and start fixing the other places. They weren't here long...I could tell the lead guy wasn't too happy...he wasn't mean, but he offered some excuses again as to why it happened (it sure wasn't his fault), and then he said, we'll see ya later...like, I know you're gonna call back, so we'll see you again soon. I came down to inspect, and they ripped my carpet some, I guess while they were "fixing" one of the problem spots. I couldn't believe it....what do you do? I hate to seem like a complainer...it's just who has the money to replace their carpet all the time? We've lived here for 9 years and we're just now getting around to replacing it...I'd like for it to look nice for a while! Oh well, enough about our carpet. It does look nice...I do plan to post pictures....I just hate to 'cause there are some things that aren't finished...but I guess at least you all could get an idea of how it looks. I LOVE IT...I just wish it would have been put in right the first time.

On to my request. My mother went to the dermatologist last week to have a spot checked out on her leg. They did do a biopsy, and told her the results would be back in two weeks. Yesterday, they called and told her the spot is melanoma and they scheduled her for surgery on Friday. The doctor feels 95% sure that he can get it all, just pray that he can and that this will all be finished. I try not to think about anything past tomorrow...I can't...I'm just hoping and praying that they've found it soon enough and they can get it ALL tomorrow. I know the Lord is in control....my only problem is I know He has a plan that may or may not line up with my plan...that's what I'm struggling with. My mom did testify in church last night, praising the Lord that they found it now and that they are going to do surgery to remove it. I hope we can testify and praise the Lord that it's all gone. I don't know much about melanoma...what I do know is not good. I think that's another thing I'm having trouble dealing with. Please, just pray. Thanks so much.

Keeping up with the Williams'

Is not an easy task, huh....especially since I'm not very faithful at blogging these days! The last time I blogged, I told you the kids were going to Bible school-they LOVED it. On Friday night of last week they had their closing program. Amber and LeRoy had arrived that afternoon and were able to go with us to watch the kids. They know some people at that church, too, so it was good for them to visit with some more friends. It was a nice program-the kids sang songs, there was a slide presentation showing pictures from all week, a short message giving the plan of salvation. My favorite part of the program was when all of the kids turned to face us and they sang this song they learned with sign language-it is so pretty. The chorus says, "But God can do what seems impossible. God controls eternity. My mind can never comprehend it, But God in Heaven cares for me." It was so neat watching them all-I've had my kids sing it a couple of times for me-I love it. The highlight of the program for the kids was when they drew names out of a basket for prizes...one of those prizes being a digital camera. I know Shelby especially wanted to win. I bought her a digital camera for Christmas, but it wasn't a very good one...and it hasn't worked very well. So, she was excited at the chance to win one. The time came, they drew the name out of the basket (it wasn't Shelby) Everyone was looking around to see who it was and if they were there...it seemed like it took a while, and then a little girl stood up and made her way out of the aisle-she had down syndrome. Everyone clapped as she walked up and got her new camera. After the program was over, Shelby came up to me and said, "I think the little girl that won the camera was a little handicapped or something....so I'm glad she won." It brought tears to my eyes...I knew how badly Shelby wanted to win that camera, but I was so glad that she has a tender heart.

We left the church and headed downtown to the building where Todd works. It was about sunset, we were hoping to get up on one of the higher floors and look out over the river before the sun went down. We made it to the 30th floor just as the sun was setting, it was so pretty! It was an amazing view from up there. We looked around a little bit more and then headed home. I know Todd was glad for us to see where he works...I enjoyed it, too.

We stayed up late talking about different things on Friday night after we put the kids to bed. It was a lot of fun.

Saturday we woke up, I made breakfast. I could tell that something was going on with Seth. He was a little sick, but after a while he started to feel better. We headed out to the zoo with all of the kids. We walked around for a while and then let the kids play in the splash park. They had so much fun. Our kids are always wanting to go there EVERY time we go to the zoo, but a lot of times we're just going for a quick trip-we don't necessary want to stay a long time and have everybody get all wet and everything...so it was a nice treat for them. They think they're so deprived! We left the zoo after a while and went to get some supper...then Amber and LeRoy headed out. They had to get back to their home church so LeRoy could drive a bus on Sunday morning. We had such a nice visit with them-I hope they get to come back while they are home.

On Sunday morning, I woke up and started getting things ready for church-since I was lazy and didn't do it Sat. night. Shelby came downstairs where I was ironing and told me Stu had just thrown up. I ran upstairs and he was already finished. Todd and I thought it would be for the best if I stayed home...we just kept all the little ones in. I made chicken and dumplings while Todd was at church with the kids-Stu was fine the rest of the day...never was sick again. That night for church, Todd had to be there early for a meeting so he went on ahead of us. I was finishing up getting us ready so we could leave. Sarah was saying her belly was hurting some-we grabbed the trash can (just in case) and headed out the door. We almost made it to church and Stuart starts throwing up in the trash can. I hear someone else start to gag, I'm rolling all the windows down, trying to help the smell. I don't deal well w/vomit myself....we make it to church, the kids are flying out of the truck (they've probably never moved so fast in their life), my mom comes out and takes Stu in to wipe him off, Todd comes out and takes the trash can to wash it out. I was planning to take all of the little ones back home, but Todd told me he would so I could stay for church, which I thought was so nice-I hate when I have to miss church. Stu was fine after that...Sarah was sick some and the next day she still didn't feel well. Thankfully, it hasn't been as bad as it could be...and I think it's about gone!

We have been busy this week painting. Our carpet is coming on Monday! Woo Hoo! I will post pictures soon.

I didn't mean for this post to be so long. I guess I better go...I need to be working while the little ones are resting!
Hope all is well with everyone...take care!

Correction...

I would like to post a correction to my last post where I said Miss Savannah has A tooth....as of today she has "teeth". Both of the ones on the bottom are coming through. She was just smiling, letting me get a good look after lunch. The kids are all excited and have been trying to catch a peek, too. One of Spencer's permanent teeth are coming in, too...the only trouble is his baby tooth in front of it isn't even loose! We've been trying to work it-or I have. Hopefully it will loosen up soon.

The kids are having such a good time at Bible school. Every day they are so excited to go. Today, me and the babies went to the grocery while they were gone. It was nice to go out w/only 2!

Amber and Leroy may come at the end of the week. I hope they do-it will be nice to visit w/them some more.

Todd and I plan to paint some more after church tonight. I'll post some pictures soon...maybe I'll wait 'til we get carpet. I can't wait!

Big news....

Yesterday we got to go and visit our friends Amber and Leroy....I was SO happy to see them. It's been about a year since we last saw them....her kids looked so big-she said the same thing about mine! I know they are torn about leaving Honduras-and they hope it settles down so they can return soon, but I am so thankful they got out! I was reading on the internet a little while ago about the situation there-it's no telling what will happen before it's all said and done. I'm sure if the former president gets his way (and there are many people trying to help him, including Pres. Obama) he'll probably run the missionaries out, as his buddy Chavez did in Venezuela....like I said-I'm just thankful they are here.

In other news.....Miss Savannah has a TOOTH! :-) She has been chewing on everything for a while now, and I've been checking her mouth every once in a while, just because I knew one must be close...and sure enough, I could tell today that one was breaking through. Tonight when you ran your finger across her gums you could feel it! She's getting so big....she is so funny-I love to make her laugh...she just cracks up! Her little sweet, bald head...she's precious.

The kids went to Bible school today-they were so excited! Todd went to pick them up-I had gone into work for a few hours-he said they were so wound up on the way home! (I remember from last year!) :-)

I was going to paint some tonight, but now that I have everyone in bed I don't even feel like it! I've become so lazy anymore.....I guess I'm enjoying the summer a little too much! I better enjoy it while I can-Todd starts school again in August and he'll be working-it's going to be hectic! Thank goodness it's only for a semester.

I am tired....have a good night!

An update....

I just wanted to give a quick update on Amber and LeRoy in Honduras. Todd and I left for camp on Monday evening and were gone until Wednesday afternoon. I called my dad on the way home from camp, and he told me that Amber had called my house-he was there-she told him they were leaving Honduras, arriving in TX on Wednesday. They don't have cell phones, but they were able to get an internet connection to get on facebook, so I know they have arrived in the states and are en route to Northern KY, where she is from. Praise the Lord they are safe! Please continue to pray for the Lord to give them wisdom...I'm sure it's hard to know what to do now.

Todd is working 'til 2 today, I'm picking him up and we are heading back to camp for the reunion today. I'm so excited-hoping to see some friends we haven't seen for a while.

The drywall man FINISHED today! Woo Hoo...now we can start painting!!! I'm so thankful the Lord provided the money to be able to get this finished....it looks so nice!

It finally feels "normal" outside...it has been chilly the past few days....not that I'm complaining, it's just a little hard to know how to dress....and poor Savannah-she only has one season's worth of clothes...it's kinda hard putting her in sleeveless onesie-type outfits when it's so chilly out! :-)

Hope everyone enjoys the fourth! I'm so thankful for our freedom...and I'm proud to be an American.
