Okay, so the rain has gone now...but we definitely were singing that earlier today! This morning when we woke up, the sky was so dark, the thunder was rumbling, but I had to make a quick run to the grocery for milk and some other things. I made it out before the storm hit-it was just starting to sprinkle as I was getting the groceries in the house! It did start to rain harder...it came down so quickly. Todd and I had started working on the rooms, we looked out the windows occasionally and saw our ditch fill up in the front-soon the water was over the road (this has happened a few times since we've lived here). The backyard was full of water...it was a mess. There was a pretty good stretch of our road that was covered in water, but the cars kept on coming down it. Our road is pretty busy-people use it as a cut through. Finally, a man down the street pulled his trucks out into the road to block it off. Everyone seemed to be drawn outside to watch the rising water-a lot of the neighbors were out, our kids kept wanting to go out, Todd and I went out some...it was so crazy. I had to go out after lunch and it was a mess. Traffic lights were out, streets were covered with water, so the traffic was heavy. I'm just so thankful we didn't get any water in our house, our church was fine, and we were able to get out and go to Bible school. I know there are some people, I've heard (I haven't watched any news firsthand) that weren't as fortunate as we were, and they've lost a lot in this storm. What a mess!
We have been having Bible school this week. We have had an evangelist come in for the past few years, and he and his family do Bible school. They do such a good job-he does illusions as he teaches...the kids love it. I do, too. Last night Spencer was watching-and he's never seen it before...this is his first year in with the bigger kids. Everything Bro. Decker did, he would turn around with his mouth open, or he'd say, "How'd he do that?" It's so funny to watch the kids' expressions. We are taking up and offering each night-boys vs. girls. I am representing the girls, again, and this year, my nephew, James is representing the boys. I was hoping Todd would get to do it-if you remember from last year, I owe him a pie in the face. This year it's supposed to be slime-so I REALLY hope I don't have to take it. The kids get all excited about it, though-that's the main thing. I can wash my face and hair, right?
Our friends, Amber and LeRoy are heading back to Honduras on Tuesday. I hope things are okay there now. They are heading back to the states in Sept. so they can be here for the birth of their baby. So, they won't be there for very long-I know they are excited to get back...it just makes me a little nervous. I know the Lord will take care of them.
I know I'm terrible about posting pictures....I was looking for my camera earlier so I could take some of this water. I couldn't find it...it's no telling where it is. Everything is so unorganized where we've been painting and moving rooms around. I will be so thankful when we get everything back together! We need to get finished...it's about school time. I can't even believe that. Summer break has been so nice-I'm not ready to go back to school yet!
My mom got the results back from the pathology report from her surgery and they did get all the melanoma! I am so happy and thankful for answered prayer!
Hope everyone is having a good week! Goodnight.
