Woo Hoo...the past few days have been beautiful outside. It has been so nice. Thursday night, Todd was grilling out...the kids wanted to come outside while the food was cooking. It was so funny-they acted like wild animals running around...it was so good for them to get back out in the backyard! Yesterday, Todd took everyone but Savannah and Shelby to the property-they played outside ALL DAY. They loved it-we did school today to catch back up-but it was so nice for them to get a break and be out in the nice weather. Shelby didn't want to go to the property-she's growing out of the playing in the dirt stage for the most part-so she and I went to look at bedroom furniture, then we went to the library (she wanted to go-I'm so glad she loves to read-she doesn't take after her mother). I like to read okay, it just never became a hobby of mine-and now I'm so busy.... Anyways, back to our day...we had to come back home after the library to feed Miss Savannah, since I walked off and left the diaper bag at home. We called my mom to see if she wanted to have lunch with us-we picked her up at her office downtown and drove over to Indiana-we ate at Logan's. We took Mama back to work after we ate, I was planning to go to Kohl's over here, but got on the expressway going the wrong way, so we headed back to Indiana. We walked around the mall, found some deals at Children's Place, left the mall went to Kohl's, found some deals there. I love finding nice things for good prices-Shelby and I had such a nice day! (and Savannah, too) She was so good, we almost forgot she was w/us! :-)
When the kids were playing outside Thursday evening, Shelby found some wild onions-she brought them in and put them on the counter. I forgot they were there and they were sitting on this puzzle, so they blended in. Friday morning before they left for the property, Spencer and Sarah were looking at those onions. They kept telling Shelby they were dead-she wasn't listening to them. Finally, Sarah says, "Shelby, the onions have passed away!" Then, Spencer says, "And here's their funeral" as he throws them into the trash. There's always something to laugh about in this house.
Shelby just came in from the backyard and asked if they could go swimming today....not quite warm enough yet!
Last night, we all went back out so Todd could look at the bedroom suits I had looked at earlier in the day. We were in this one store and a salesman says, "These can't be all yours" (referring to the kids) Todd says, "yes they are". He asked their ages, as if he was interested, we tell him and as I was walking off to get Seth, he says, "I hope you are done!" It really burned me...and I struggle so much...most of the time I don't say anything because I'm so mad and I don't want to be hateful. It just bugs me because I don't understand why people care how many kids we have...he'll never have to lay his eyes on us again, more than likely, I don't know why it matters to him if we have 20 kids. I know that most of this attitude is just the mentality of people today...and their world view. I guess it shouldn't surprise me...most people are "anti" everything today. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I just wish they would keep it to themselves-it kills me, how they can look at these sweet little kids' faces, and see little Savannah so precious sleeping in her carseat and say, "well, I hope you're done". I just don't get the bitterness! I'll never understand it, and as many times as we've heard it, it cuts me to the quick every time!
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! We sure are....

It's 39 degrees and sunny today and the girls are wild outside too. Bird's out with just a sweatshirt. It's all relative, isn't it? In the fall, if it were 39 degrees, we'd freezing!
I feel you, Sister..about the comment. However, I have found that I can use those moments to really share Jesus' love and what might have sounded like a negative comment, ends up being a positive experience for the person with their foot in their mouth, and for my kids, because they see Mama talking about what a blessing they all are and "if you had kids like mine you would keep having more, too." It lets them know they are valued and then the said person with foot in mouth will usually say something really nice and I pray that we leave a loving impression on them about what Jesus' love is.
I loved reading about your day with your girls. I LOVE when Karizma and I have alone time. I can't believe that pretty soon it will be me, her, and our Isabella...just like your trip. We probably would go to Kohl's, too, because we can always find a ton of stuff on clearance.
