What's her name?

It is so funny watching all of the kids react to the baby. I was the youngest of three girls and really didn't experience the birth of any babies until I was about 13 and my nephew was born. We wanted to have our children close together so they could grow up together....of course, I never planned on having 6 in the beginning...even though we've had them close there still is 8 yrs between Shelby and Savannah...5 yrs between Sarah and Savannah! It is just interesting watching the kids at different ages and how they react. It is always so different getting used to a new little person, saying their name and all. The other day the kids were sitting around the table. The discussion turned to this necklace I had bought for Shelby for Christmas. It is just a simple little necklace that had an "S" charm on it (I bought one for both girls)-it had broken. Sarah says, S for Shelby, S for Spencer....going all through the list...then she gets to the baby and says, S for Samantha, or whoever she is. Like I said, it takes a little bit to get adjusted to a "new" person...and to remember what their name is! :-)

Stu loves the baby. He had to go tell her bye yesterday before he left with Daddy for church. I've delivered all my babies at the same hospital. In the nursery, they give the babies these pacifiers that smell like vanilla. We took them from the older kids because you couldn't find them in stores and we weren't about to have them get adjusted to some expensive, hard to find pacifier and end up in a crisis situation when we couldn't find another one! Now they sell them at Wal-Mart, so I haven't stripped Savannah of hers. I said all that to say...when the baby has those pacifiers, they kind of smell like vanilla....it's a soft, baby smell...it is nice. Well, Stu leaned over to kiss the baby the other day, then says, "She smells like a marshmallow". ;-)

I did get out and go to church last night. Todd stayed home with the little kids...it was nice to get out. I had to miss church last Sunday with Seth, so it seemed like forever since I had gone! Maybe I should have stayed home, but I feel fine and it's always better for my mental state to get out...I don't do well cooped up in the house!

I was going to try and get a couple more pictures of the baby, but my camera has gone back to not wanting to function...remember someone got a hold of it a while back...it hasn't been right since then. I did buy a new video camera that takes still images, but I don't know how to work it yet!

I was cracking up at the 'Samantha' comment and the 'marshmallow' comment. Too cute.

Hey, mommy of 6...you can now change your profile! woohoo!!!

Glad to hear you all are doing well. I love the "whoever she is" comment. Classic!! They should have plenty of time to get used to her before #7 comes along! You've got to speed it up a bit if you're gonna have your own t.v. show. I can see it now: Todd and Jen Plus Ten"
You're great Jen! I miss you!
